One engineer who reads datasheets for a living.

Typmax is named for the datasheet's three columns — min · typ · max. That's the whole philosophy in a wordmark: a design is only as good as the corners you checked it at, and most tools quietly check none of them.

Why we're doing it

Hardware is the last place where "looks right" is still accepted.

Software has type checkers, test suites and CI. Hardware has a reviewer squinting at a PDF, and a two-week fabrication loop to punish anything they miss. The tooling that could catch a missing pull-up or an incompatible logic level before the board is ordered mostly doesn't exist — the numbers are all sitting in datasheets nobody has time to re-read.

So we're building the checker first and the AI second. The verifier and the parts data are the product; the language model is the part you could swap out tomorrow. That ordering is unusual, unglamorous, and the reason the six-of-six run worked.

We publish what we get wrong — the shortcuts we deferred, the reviews that went badly, the measurements that surprised us. The product is closed for now; the reasoning isn't. If you want to know what a tool really does, read what its makers admit to.

How we work

Four habits, held hard.

Contracts before code

Every subsystem gets an RFC, reviewed and accepted, then amended in public when the build teaches us something.

A deferral is written down

Anything cut is listed as a known shortcut with the reason. Something neither fixed nor listed is a process bug, not a judgment call.

Green is checked, not claimed

A merge needs a receipt naming the exact commit and every leg run verbatim. Any commit after it voids the receipt.

Someone looks at the artifact

Renders get rasterized and inspected, boards get opened in KiCad by a human. A file that's only ever hashed has never been validated.
